In the final match of the mixed doubles Max Mirnyi (Belarus) and Andrea Hlavackova (Czech Republic) who had been seeded under the 7th number beat another international duet Abigail Spears (USA)/Santiago Gonzalez (Mexico) in two sets - 7:6 (7:5), 6:3. Before that Max and Andrea beat American tennis players Caitlin Kristen and Dennis Novikov - 6:1, 6:1, Yung-Jan Chan (China)/Robert Lindstedt (Sweden) - 6:3, 6:4, Kveta Peschke (Czech Republic) and Marcin Matkowski (Poland) - 6:1, 6:2, and Kristina Mladenovic (France)/Daniel Nestor (Canada) - 7:5, 6:7 (4:7), 12:10.


This is the third victory of 36-year-old Max Mirnyi on US Open mixed doubles. In 1998 he won the tournament in a duet with American Serena Williams, and in 2007 - with Victoria Azarenka.
