Max Mirnyi won the China Open (tennis) in doubles

Max Mirnyi won the China Open (tennis)  in doublesMax Mirnyi (the 25th in the doubles ranking) and Horia Tecau (the 30th) won the China Open with a prize fund of $ 2,315,250.

 

The Belarusian-Romanian duo defeated the Italians Fabio Fognini (the 49th) and Andreas Seppi (the 82th) in the final game with the score 6:4, 6:2 on October, 6.


In the first round Mirnyi and Tecau won Julien Benneteau (the 23th) from France and Nenad Zimondzhichem (the 12th) from Serbia – 6:3, 6:4, in the quarterfinal – British Colin Fleming (the 18th) and Jonathan Murray (the 28) - 6:4, 7:6 (7:3). Mirnyi and Tecau without a fight went to the final because of the refusal of opponents Novak Djokovic (no doubles rankings, a single leader) and Stanislas Wawrinka (214, 9).


It was the 89th final in doubles and the 48th title for Mirnyi (the fifth final and the third title in the 2013 season).
