Viktoria Azarenka gained the 100th victory in Grand Slam tournaments and advanced to the quarterfinals of the US Open tennis tournament. Viktoria Azarenka (№17 of BTA rating) confidently beat Russian player Elena Vesnina (№56) and advanced to the fourth round of the US Open tennis tournament. This victory became the 100th for Belarusian player in Grand Slam matches.


The outright between Belarusian and Russian lasted only 57 minutes, and Azarenka allowed the rival to take just 2 games - 6: 1, 6: 1. It was the sixth full-time duel of sportswomen and in all of them the victory was on the side of the Belarusian player.


On the 2nd of September, Azarenka defeated 21-year-old Serbian tennis player Alexandra Krunić (№ 145) in a tight match of the fourth round and advanced to the quarterfinals of the US Open tennis tournament. The bout ended with a score of 4: 6, 6 4, 6 4 in favor of the Belarusian and lasted 2 hours and 19 minutes.


In previous rounds of the current US Open Viktoria Azarenka took precedence over the Japanese tennis player Misaki Doi (№90) - 6: 7 (3: 7), 6: 4, 6, 1, and then beat American player Christina McHale (№43) - 6: 3, 6: 2.


In 2012 and 2013, Azarenka got to the final of US Open, but both times she lost in the decisive match to American Serena Williams.
