Vitaly Hurkou won WBC World title in Thai boxing among professionals
Belarusian Muay Thai kickboxer Vitaly Hurkou (weight – 71 kg) beat Kem Sitsongpeenong from Thailand in the fight for the WBC World professional Muay Thai Champion title.
This fighting between the Belarusian and the Thai was held in Milan (Italy) during the tournament Ring War. It lasted almost two hours. The match consisted of five rounds. In the first of them Hurkou made some mistakes and Sitsongpeenong got advantage in the fighting. But after a while the Belarusian changed the course of the fighting and won the title according to judges’ decision.
Earlier title’s rivals met in amateur boxing – in the World Cup 2012 in Thai boxing in St. Petersburg. There Hurkou also defeated the Thai and later won a silver medal.
Vitaly Hurkou combines performances in Thai boxing and kickboxing. In amateur sport he became a multiple world champion (mostly in Muay Thai). He started his career in 2001.
