Aliaksandra Herasimenya Wins Gold in 50m Freestyle at European Swimming Championships

Belarusian swimmer became the champion of the continent at the short course swimming for the first time in her career.
Aliaksandra Herasimenya broke through on November, 25 in Chartres, France. Belarusian “golden fish” was the fastest in the women’s 50m freestyle and finished in a time of 23.85. Thus a new national record was set. The closest rival Triin Aljand of Estonia dropped behind in 0.39 seconds. Another Belarusian Sviatlana Khohlova finished sixth in a time of 24.81.
At the 2012 European Short Course Swimming Championships Aliaksandra Herasimenya has got full set of medals: bronze in 4x50m freestyle relay, silver at 50m butterfly stroke event and gold in freestyle at the same distance.
