Swimmers tournament was held during the 27th Summer Universiade in Kazan (July 6-17, 2013). Belarusian Aliaksandra Herasimenya was unattainable for rivals in the final swim in 50 meter butterfly. She set a new record for the Universiade and for Belarus with the result 25.84 sec.
Canadian Catherine Savard got silver medal - 26.05 sec., Italian Elena Jam won bronze - 26.28 sec.
Before this start she starred in a photo shoot of the newspaper "Pressball" and the Belarusian Federation of Swimming.
This year was unusual for Aliaksandra in many things. She misses the World Championships in Barcelona. "But now I know that purposefully preparing for "the world" is easier than trying to combine serious studying and training", - said Aliaksandra. This year she received diploma of Belarusian State Economic University and got specialization "manager-economist".
- Now it will be difficult to convince me that a high-class athlete managed to finish high school with excellent marks. If they are I want to get acquainted with this extraordinary person.
It seems to me that learning can be fully only when there is one workout per day. But if you have two of them and you open your textbook at 8 pm the brain can understands the text very difficult. I know that according to the scientists’ research after heavy physical exertion the brain recovers only in 6 hours.
I think it can be faster but it was a small consolation and I often fell asleep with a book in hands. So at the exams sometimes I was ashamed in front of the teachers who thought that the champion had had other important things to do than to study. Still, I'm glad that I was able to pass this challenge and now I want to complete Oxford...
Aliaksandra is incorrigible and this year she intends to dedicate even to the third education. She said “I know that before the Olympics I won't have time for books and diplomas".
Let's try not to see the fatigue in Aliaksandra 's eyes during this photo shoot made between the second training and the morning departure to the airport for the next training camp.
