Maxim Gustik won the stage of the World Cup in ski acrobaticsBelarusian freestyle skier Maxim Gustik won the fifth stage of the World Cup in ski acrobatics, which was held in Deer Valley (USA).

Maxim got to final with the 10th result (112.72 points), then on the second stage in the struggle for the eight positions to the next round he became the fifth among the 12 athletes (112.30). On the third stage he was the first of 8 freestyle skiers (120.80) and entered the superfinal to fight for the medals. On the final stage Maxim Gustik showed the best result (117.85) again being ahead of Canadian Travis Gerritsa (115.83), Michael Ross from the United States (111.37) and the Chinese Jia Tsonyana (101.36).

This result was the best in career of 24-year-old Maxim Gustik at the World Cup. Before this his greatest achievement was the 2nd place at the World Cup in Krayshberge (Austria) on February 17, 2012.

The sixth stage of the World Cup in ski acrobatics will be held on February 17 in Sochi (Russia). The World Cup consists of 7 stages and the last one will be held on February 23 in Bukovel (Ukraine).
