The book presents statistical data characterizing the development of tourism and tourist industry, activities of cultural organisations, major historical, cultural, and natural sites that form tourist resources of the Republic of Belarus.
The book is intended for top management, administrative bodies, financial and economic departments of enterprises, research organisations, banks, teaching staff, postgraduates, higher education students of economics, and other interested users.
FOREWORD
The statistical book is prepared on the basis of the data of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus, and the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.
The book presents information on tourism development in the Republic of Belarus. There is information on international tourist flows, number of tourist agencies and their activities, tourist collective accommodation facilities, production of tourist goods, volume of paid services in the field of tourism and consumer price indices for selected paid services to population related to culture, tourism, and recreation; commissioning of tourist, recreation, and sports facilities, and major tourist resources.
Data on organised tourism are provided by organisations engaged in tourist activities (either as tour operators or tour agents).
Selected indicators are broken down by region of the Republic of Belarus.
Methodological notes providing information on concepts used are given in a separate section.
