Minsk will host a seven-hour piano marathonSeven-hour piano marathon "Universe of Glass" will be held on November 29 in Minsk.

 

"This is a unique concert-marathon, which offers listeners an exciting and fascinating seven-hour journey into the world of music of Philip Glass. In one evening  all the piano works of the master will be played, as well as dozens of works-dedications written specifically for the project by authors from more than 90 countries" - said in the press service of the French Embassy in Belarus.


Philip Glass is one of the most influential contemporary American composers. Known as one of the founders of minimalism. Gained worldwide popularity due to the soundtrack of the film "Kundun," "The Truman Show," "Candyman," "The Illusionist", as well as due to the music written for the opening ceremony of the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.


Author and performer of the project - a French composer and pianist Nicolas Horvath. The concert is held in Minsk as part of a world tour of the musician. After Minsk concerts will be held in Ukraine, Iran, Serbia, Russia, Georgia, USA.

 

The Project "Universe of Glass" has a principle "pay as much as you want. "Each listener decides how much he or she wants  to pay for a visit to the event," - noted in the press service.
