Handball team of Belarus won the first victory in the qualifying tournament of the European Championship 2016.

In the second round match of the competition in the 2nd qualifying group Yury Shauvtsov’s  team il Siauliai (Lihuania) snatched victory from the Lithuanian team with a score of 30:28 (13:13). As in the opening match of the qualification  with the Bosnians in Minsk (25:25) Belarusian team was forced to go without their injured leader Siarhei Rutenka. Again Belarusians did not always were best in the game, but in the end the result was positive.

The standings after 2 rounds: Denmark - 4 points, Belarus - 3, Bosnia and Herzegovina - 1 Lithuania - 0.
