Junior Eurovision Song Contest: Belarus is the First to PerformThis year the 10th international Junior Song Contest “Eurovision-2012” will take place in Amsterdam on December 1. 12 countries will take part in the contest with the Belarusian performance scheduled to be the first one.

Belarus will be represented by the song "A more-more..." (“O sea, sea”) of the 12-year-old Jahor Zheshko and four back dancers (Illya Volkau, Katsyaryna Kichkaila, Natallya Nestsyaronak and Daniil Jakh). The rest contestants will be as follows: Sweden, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Russia, Israel, Albania, Armenia, Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova. The young singer of the hosting country (Netherlands) will appear as the last song contest competitor.

The performances order was defined in an interesting and symbolic manner. Each delegation was supposed to take a piece of ice containing the performance number from a stand resembling an ice-cream and crack it against the floor. Apparently, the organizers of the junior ‘Eurovision-2012’ were sticking to the contest slogan (“Break the ice!”).

It should be mentioned that Belarus remains one of the most successful participants of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The country won the highest award of the contest twice (first time in 2005 – Kseniya Sitnik and two years later – Aliaksei Zhihalkovich) and also hosted the Event in 2010.
