Top 10 ruins with a history that must be seen before they are renovated. Ruins of the castle of Sapieha in the village Halshany.
The castle was built in Halshany as a palatial residence of the Chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania Pavel Stefan Sapieha in the first half of the XVII century. Later it became the prototype of the castle complex of the famous book of Belarusian classic Uladzimir Karatkievich "The Dark Castle Olshansky".
Up to the present day the castle remained partly (only remnants of walls and towers, and arched ceilings survived).
In Soviet times, bricks of the castle were used to build new buildings in the village. However, despite all the misfortunes, the ruins have survived and were given the status of a state monument of architecture.
