The UCI Track Cycling World Championships 2013 started in Minsk on February, 20.
All the competitions are held at Minsk Arena track.Nearly 260 riders from 35 countries take part at this Championship. The UCI Track Cycling Championships includes 19 medal events (ten men’s events and nine women’s events). This tournament will end on February, 24.
President of the UCI Pat McQuaid expressed satisfaction that the world championship takes place at the Minsk Arena track at the opening ceremony. He pointed out a high sports level of Belarusian cyclists. He predicted that the tournament would be stunning and dramatic. Great Britain tops medal count after the fourth day of the Championships.
Great Britain has so far collected four gold, one silver and two bronze medals. In the medal table it is followed by Germany (2, 3, 1) and Australia (2, 2, 3). Belarus has no medals.
