In Belarusian health resorts in the period from January to August 159.5 thousand foreigners from near and far abroad vacationed and recuperated (2.5 thousand people more in comparison with the same period of the last year). The director of the National Center of Health Improvement and Sanatorium Treatment of the Population under the Council of Ministers Henadz Balbatouski reported this.

He noted that the demand remains stable, while the geography of export of Belarusian sanatorium treatment and health improvement expands. Foreigners visit Belarusian health resorts for spa treatment from all European countries, as well as from Israel and other far away countries. At the same time, the majority of foreigners, who spend their vacations in Belarus are the Russians.

"For foreigners the resorts of our republic are attractive because of beautiful nature, strong medical facilities, good food and friendly staff - said Henadz Balbatouski. - It can be noted that a favorable image of Belarusian sanatoriums and health organizations is created both on foreign and domestic tourism markets".

Exports of services for the 8 months of this year reached Br974 billion, what is 20% more compared with the same period of the last year. It should be noted that foreigners prefer to relax in a more comfortable (and therefore more expensive) rooms, acquire various value-added services that are not included in the price.
