Siarhei Rutenka recognized as the best left back in the worldHandball-planet.com has summarized the complete results of the voting for the World’s Best Player 2013 per positions.

 

Best players were determined by 11 journalists writing about handball and the12th voice was the opinion of fans who could vote on the site. As a result Siarhei Rutenka became the best left back and the Croatian playmaker of ”Hamburg“ Domagoj Duvnjak was named the best handball player of the world. He got 35 points. Hungarian Laszlo Nagy from ”Veszprem“ got the second place, Spaniard Julen Aguinagalde from ”Vive“ became the third (23 points).


List of the winners per positions:

goalkeeper – Arpad Sterbik (”Barcelona“, Spain), 21 points;

left wing – Anders Eggert (”Flensburg“, Denmark), 14 points;

left back – Siarhei Rutenka (”Barcelona“, Belarus), 15 points;

playmaker – Domagoj Duvnjak (”Hamburg“, Croatia), 35 points;

right back – Laszlo Nagy (”Veszprem“, Hungary), 26 points;

right wing – Hans Lindberg (”Hamburg“, Denmark), 22 points;

line player - Julen Aguinagalde (”Vive“, Spain), 23 points.


Belarusian Siarhei Rutenka left behind Czech Philip Jicha from ”Kiel“ (13 points) and Dane Mikkel Hansen from ”PSG“ (9) in the voting for the best left back. It is important to say that in the fans voting Rutenka got the third place among the competitors for the position with 3583 votes, Jicha received 6314 votes and Hansen – 7920.
