Foreigners are able to refund VAT for Belarusian goods. They are able to refund VAT at custom checkpoints, where bank branches are located. If the foreigners are out of the country through the custom checkpoints, where bank branches are not provided, the money will be transferred to the bank or card account.However, the minimum value of purchases for which VAT will be refunded should reach 800 thousand belarusian rubles (94 U.S. dollars). The product must be purchased in any store within one working day.
The taxes will not be returned in cases the goods are exempted from VAT in Belarus or reduced rate is applied (for instance food products). In addition, excises goods are non-refundable VAT. Shop receipt of purchase is required.
