Gold reserves of the Republic of Belarus decreased in December

According to the preliminary data of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, gold reserves of the country (by IMF methodology) decreased by $ 112.6 million - up to $ 8.095 billion in December. We remind you that in November 2012 there was an increase, and in the previous five months before November there was a reduction in gold reserves.
In national definition gold reserves decreased by $ 134.3 million and on January 1, 2013 reached $ 8.763 billion in equivalent.
"The repay of foreign and domestic liabilities in foreign currency by government and the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus in full, as well as the decrease in the value of gold in the international market of precious metals had an impact on the reduction of gold reserves in December 2012 ", - reported the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.
