Gold reserves of the Republic of Belarus declined in January, despite the loan from the EurAsECGold reserves of the country (counted by IMF methodology) decreased by $ 70.4 million. The reduction occurred despite the fact that our country received the next tranche of $ 440 million from Anti-Crisis Fund of EurAsEC on January, 31.

On February 1, 2013 Belarus gold reserves reached $ 8.025 billion in the definition of the IMF. The amount of reserve assets in foreign currency increased by $ 80.5 million up to $ 3.321 billion.

"The redemption of the government and the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus foreign and domestic foreign currency liabilities in full has affected on the reduction in gold reserves ", - reported the National Bank.

Moreover, there is no a positive balance of purchase and sale of foreign currency by the National Bank in the domestic market, which was usually mentioned in the report.
