An attendance record was set at the Ice Hockey World Championship 2014 in MinskAt the Ice Hockey World Championship 2014 in Minsk an attendance record of similar tournaments was set.

According to the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), 640,044 people visited matches in Minsk. The previous record (552,097 spectators) belonged to the championship in Prague (2004).

The average attendance of the championship in Minsk is 10,000 spectators.

The final match Finland-Russia was visited by 15,112 people, which is the record of the tournament in Minsk.

Russia won the golden medal, Finland became the second and Sweden got the third place.

Belarusian team entered the top eight teams at the world championship. In the quarterfinals Belarus lost Sweden 2:3.
