Belarusian bank note received an award for design
The Br 200 000 bank note of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus has become the winner in the nomination "The best design showing the national character" at the Watermark Banknotes Awards.
The representative of the National Bank was awarded with a diploma and a service medal during the Fifth International Security Printing Conference – Watermark Conference-2013 which was held in St. Petersburg on 25-27 June 2013.
Winners were selected in three categories: "The Best New Currency Series ", "Harmony" and "The best design showing the national character." The Bank of Lebanon won in the nomination "Harmony" and the National Bank of Angola became the winner in the nomination "The Best New Currency Series".
The Art Museum named after Pavel Maslennikov (Magileu) is shown on the front side of the Br 200 000 bank note. This building was built in the early 20th century. The back side of the note shows the decorative collage of architectural elements of the museum building.
The competition was organized by the publishing house "Watermark" and the magazine "Watermark" (Russia). Only banknotes which were put into circulation in the period between the fourth (2011) and the fifth (2013) Watermark conferences took part at this competition.
