Belarusian day in SochiFebruary, 14 2014 may be the best day in the history of Belarusian sport. Belarusian sportsmen won three medals – two gold and one bronze medals.

Women's 15 km individual race became triumph of the Belarusian biathlon. Darya Domracheva after winning the pursuit won gold in this race. The biathlete made only one misses at the second shooting.

Nadezhda Skardino also spent a great race and without misses took bronze medal. Selina Gasparin from Swiss became the second.

Nadezhda Skardino, who is perhaps the most stable shooter in biathlon, got the third place due to her perfect shooting. This medal is the most important achievement in the career of 28-year-old biathlete.

Belarusian day in SochiA few hours later Belarusian freestyler Alla Tsuper sensationally won gold in ladies’ aerials.

In the superfinal Alla Tsuper performed a triple somersault with three screws and received 98.01 points.

Following Alla Chinese Li Nina landed painfully and got only 46.02 points. This meant that Tsuper was already on the podium.

Another participants of the superfinal Lydia Lassila and Xu Mengtao also made some mistakes in landing and Tsuper became the first.

It is important to say that Alla Tsuper, who is 34, resumed her career the previous summer after giving birth. She was going to finish her career but national team coaches persuaded her return to the sport.

Tsuper’s medal became the fourth gold medal for Belarus at the Winter Olympics  after freestyler Alexei Grishin (2010) and biathlete Darya Domracheva (2014, twice).
