On December 20 Minsk is hosting international children's rhythmic gymnastics tournament Baby cup BelSwissBank 2012

More than 300 athletes between three to ten years old will take part in the thirteenth international children's rhythmic gymnastics tournament Baby cup BelSwissBank 2012.

Participants will perform in four age groups: "Nemaulyatkі (in Eng. Child)" (5 years old), "Rastochkі (in Eng. Shoots)" (6 years), "Zorachkі (in Eng. Stars)" (7-8 years), "Nadzeya (in Eng. Hope)" (9-10 years). Belarus head coach in rhythmic gymnastics Irina Leparskaya says that the number of participants could grow to infinity, if we did not stop it, because it is difficult for the audience to sit in the stands for more than three hours. But, the tournament could continue six and seven hours since it is a popular project. Tickets are rather cheap. It is said that people buy them in packs.

According to Leparskaya in a small circle of athletes Baby cup BelSwissBank tournament is valued immediately after the Olympic Games and World and European Championships, as it involves many athletes, who become champions later. Among those six gymnasts who received "silver" at the Olympics in London in group exercises, all once played in Baby cup BelSwissBank. A known gymnast Melita Stanyuta is the only one who played in the tournament three times.

"The Baby cup tournament is the most vivid impressions of childhood for me. But do not forget that a lot of work is behind the colorful costumes ", - said three-time bronze medalist at the world in a personal and a silver in the team competition Melita Stanyuta.

International Children's rhythmic gymnastics tournament Baby cup BelSwissBank 2012 will be held on December 20 at the Palace of Sports. Leparskaya said that date was not chosen randomly. "We tried to hold a tournament on 20 December that it will be held in any case. Anyway, Baby cup should be held"- said the coach, referring to rumors about the end of the world, which is allegedly coming on December 21.
