Pinsk history dates back to 1097. It is the second city by the number of surviving monuments in Belarus after Grodno. Pinsk is southern city of Belarus, it enters the top ten in terms of population. The town got its name from a tributary of the river Pripyat – Pina.
Lenin Square is the city center, which located practically on the shore of the river Pina.
The most recognizable landmark is the Jesuit College, built in the middle of the XVII century.
The only pedestrian street of the city is Lenin Street.
The most prominent landmark building located on Lenin Street is the Franciscan church. The generally accepted date of foundation of the Franciscan church is 1396.

In the late 80-ies of XX century it was decided to erect a new Orthodox cathedral in honor of the patron saint of the city Theodore Tiron - St. Fedor cathedral.
One of the oldest parks in Belarus is Park of Culture and Rest named after the Red Banner Dnieper flotilla. The park was named after the Dnieper flotilla assault, which played a decisive role in the liberation of Pinsk from Nazi invaders.
There is a mass grave of the dead sailors with numerous monuments and an eternal flame.
There is a monument to soldiers of the Afghan war. In the center of this monument is red granite symbolic soldier's heart pierced by a bullet.
In the center of the park is a boulder - a monument to the War of 1812.
Special attention is given Polessky State University, founded in 2006. The University has a highly developed infrastructure: 3 educational buildings, 5 hostels, multipurpose sports complex.
There is a young and rapidly developing area of the city Lugi.
There is a memorial complex "Guerrillas of Polessye."
There is a city beach.
Gymnasium № 1 named after Fyodor Perec. The school was founded in the 30s of XX century.
There is the building of the railway station.
