Belarusian rhythmic gymnasts won medals at the World Cup of Rhythmic Gymnastics in Bulgaria
Belarusians Melitina Stanyuta and Katsiaryna Halkina won three awards at the eighth stage of the World Cup of Rhythmic Gymnastics, which was held in the Bulgarian capital Sofia.
Graces excelled in individual exercises. The leader of the Belarusian team Melitina Stanyuta won the silver in the compositions with the hoop (17,950 points) and ribbon (17,850). In both cases Stanyuta was outstripped by current absolute World and European champion Yana Kudryavtseva from Russia, who has won all types on Sofia’s stage, as well as in the individual all-around competition with the sum of 73,900 points in four types.
Katsiaryna Halkina won a bronze medal in the exercises with clubs (17,800). Besides Kudryavtseva, Belarusian girl has passed forward another Russian experienced gymnast Margarita Mamun.
In the all-around competition Melitina Staniouta stopped one step away from the podium in 4th place (69,550), Halkina took 13th place (66,300).
World Cup in Sofia became the first major start of the gymnasts after the European Championship in Baku (Azerbaijan) in June and at the same time one of the last control starts before the September World Championships 2014 in Izmir (Turkey).
