Belarusian athlete Kiryl Shymko set a new world recordBelarusian Kiryl Shymko budged and held out a Soviet tank T-26 weighing 11.5 tons.

 

The record was set on October, 4 during the exhibition of computer games ”Igromir“ which was held in Moscow. Game developer Wargaming.net LLP that released the popular online game "World of Tanks" and Moscow exhibition center ”Crocus Expo“ were the sponsors of the event. Tank for the record’s setting was provided by the military equipment museum in Kubinka.


The athlete admitted that the current record was one of the most difficult because the tank was very old and had rusted machinery. Another specificity was that the tank had to be started otherwise the brakes would work.


According to Kiryl Shymko the representatives of The Guinness Book of Records already made an expert opinion on the establishment of a new world record.


Kiryl Shymko made a lot of power records - he moved passenger plane Boeing -737, a train consists of five carriages, transport aircraft IL- 76, tank T-34. On October 30, 2012 thousands of people saw that he made a world record moving dumper "BelAZ" weighing 55 tons near the the Minsk Hero City Memorial.
