Her opponent in the elections will be Anne Hidalgo the candidate of the Socialist Party. Both women have a chance to win the elections.
Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet was the Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing under Nicolas Sarkozy, and before that - a member of Parliament.
She has a Belarusian origin and comes from a family with a great political past. Distant ancestor of Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet was Jozef Tomasz Kosciuszko the brother of Tadeusz Kosciuszko - the head of an armed uprising against the Russian occupation in the territory of Lithuania, Poland and Belarus. Her grandfather Jacques Kosciusko was the French ambassador to the United States, great grandfather Andre Morizet - Senator, father Francois Kosciusko-Morizet is the mayor of Sevres.
