Great-granddaughter of Kosciuszko can become the mayor of ParisNathalie Kosciusko-Morizet will take part in the election campaign as a candidate for the mayor of the French capital.

She won the primaries of the party ”Union for a Popular Movement“ on June, 3. Her opponent in the elections will be Anne Hidalgo the candidate of the Socialist Party. Both women have a chance to win the elections.

Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet was the Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing under Nicolas Sarkozy, and before that - a member of Parliament.

Her grandfather Jacques Kosciusko was the French ambassador to the United States, great grandfather Andre Morizet - Senator, father Francois Kosciusko-Morizet is the mayor of Sevres.

In addition Kosciusko-Morizet has been the mayor of Longjumeau since 2008.
