Expedition funded by a Belarusian in order to search for aircraft "Spitfire" flew to MyanmarOn January, 5 expedition which will search for aircraft "Spitfire", presumably buried in Burma during the Second World War, goes from London to Yangon. A research team hopes to dig up the first fighter within two weeks.

The British farmer David Candolle found first information about planes 17 years ago. He heard story from a veteran about the military who had buried in Myanmar new and unclaimed airplanes.

Since then, David has spent on the search for "Spitfire" a lot of money and efforts. And only this year thanks to mediation of British Prime Minister David Cameron and the financial support of Belarusian Victar Kisly (previously it was reported that the president of Wargaming.net decided to allocate for search up to $ 1 million), his dreams were realized.

Expedition funded by a Belarusian in order to search for aircraft "Spitfire" flew to MyanmarThe expedition was sent to a place called Yangon. Here, at a depth of about 10 meters, as collected data says, are about 36 fighters. Searchers hope that the aircrafts will be in near-perfect condition and after restoration will be airworthy again.

"If we find them, it could be compared with the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun - said Candolle to reporters at Heathrow Airport. - And then I want to repeat the words of archaeologist Howard Carter. Lord Carnarvon asked him, "Well, do you see anything?" And he answered, "Yes, wonderful things. '"
